Warren County Real Estate
The County of Warren, Missouri was founded in 1833 and is named for General Joseph Warren, who died in the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolutionary War. Located on the western edge of the St. Louis metropolitan area and covering 438 square miles, Warrenton County has plenty to offer its residents. It is traversed by Route 94, often referred to as the "Missouri Weinstrasse" (German for Wine Road) because of the numerous vineyards dotting the county from Marthasville east into St. Charles County. Warren County is also part of the “Missouri Rhineland” with award-winning wineries located on both sides of the Missouri River.
The county provides numerous fine public schools, a quaint pace of living and a wealth of recreational opportunities for people of all ages and interests, from parks, to athletic fields, to dozens of golf courses. The area’s natural beauty and proximity to downtown St. Louis (the county seat, Warrenton, is less than an hour from St. Louis) has brought many families and businesses to Warren County.
